The FE UNY innovation team consisting of Dr. Ratna Candra Sari, M.Sc., CA., CFP (Lecturer of Accounting Education Department), Mimin Nur Aisyah, M.Sc., Ak. (Lecturer of Accounting Education Department), Sariyatul Ilyana, S.Pd., M.Sc. (Alumni of Accounting Education Class of 2012), and Novita Nurbaiti, S.Pd. (2017 Accounting Education Alumni) won an award at the International Innovation ARSVOT Malaysia (IIAM 2021) activity. In this event, the team won the title of Best Visual and Best Presenter in the International Category after competing with many participants. The IIAM 2021 activity is held in 2 stages, namely the selection stage and the final stage to determine the winner of the best of the best award.

The IIAM 2021 final activity will be held on Saturday, April 10, 2021. The championship was announced after the international seminar which was attended by participants from various countries. In this event, the UNY team proposed an innovation in the form of a sharia financial literacy comic "Syira the Series" based on augmented and virtual reality for children. This product is expected to increase children's learning interest in Islamic financial literacy and make learning fun.
